Mozilla Releases Firefox Enterprise Browser
Mozilla has launched Firefox Enterprise, a new browser version designed for businesses. It aims to provide enhanced management controls and support digital sovereignty for organizations, initially focusing on the European market.
Mozilla announced on October 12 the launch of Firefox Enterprise, a browser tailored for business use. The release is intended to address the growing demand from corporate clients, particularly in Europe, for greater digital sovereignty.
Firefox Enterprise integrates the Firefox browser with an administrative console that organizations can operate on their own infrastructure. This setup allows IT teams to centrally manage browser policies and access permissions. It also enables control over how data is transmitted within the browser and offers options to set limitations on the use of artificial intelligence.
Mozilla highlights that Firefox utilizes the Gecko engine, currently the only independent major browser engine available. This offers businesses an alternative pathway to reduce reliance on a single browser architecture.
The browser will initially be rolled out in France, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, with plans for expansion into additional markets. Mozilla is also developing an enterprise version of its Thunderbird email client.
