MSP360 integrates backup management with Claude and ChatGPT
MSP360 has released an MCP server allowing managed service providers to manage backup environments using natural language commands within AI platforms.
Pittsburgh-based MSP360 has introduced an MCP server that connects its Managed Backup software to Claude and ChatGPT. The new tool allows IT technicians to monitor backup health, diagnose failures, and manage client infrastructure using natural language queries instead of manual dashboard navigation.
Managing backups across multiple clients typically requires navigating between various console screens, filtering data, and manually generating reports. The new integration simplifies this by allowing technicians to issue commands to check on overdue plans, assign licenses, or create new configurations, often within a single request.
"Technicians spend their days dealing with routine tasks like checking client backup statuses or investigating failures," said Anton Zorin, VP of Product and Partnerships at MSP360. "By utilizing existing permissions within an AI assistant, we have streamlined the process without requiring users to navigate multiple screens."
The MCP server is available to current Managed Backup customers at no additional charge and functions within the existing security permissions of the MSP360 console.
