The Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium (MTEC) has launched two new funding opportunities designed to advance medical technologies crucial for military readiness and healthcare in challenging environments. These initiatives invite innovators from industry, academia, and research institutions to develop next-generation capabilities addressing urgent operational needs for the U.S. military.

The first opportunity, RPP MTEC-26-03-PROMPT, seeks methods for the on-demand manufacturing of clinical-quality PCR primers and probes directly in the field. This aims to reduce reliance on centralized production and complex supply chains, enabling rapid responses to infectious diseases and biological threats in austere settings. Solution Briefs are due July 24, 2026.

The second initiative, MTEC-26-02-Ventilator, with up to $1.9 million in funding, targets the development of an autonomous mechanical ventilator. This system should automatically adapt to a patient's condition with minimal clinical intervention, improving care during prolonged field situations and aeromedical evacuation, while reducing the burden on medical teams in resource-limited environments. Enhanced White Papers are due July 15, 2026.

Both opportunities share a common objective: to accelerate technologies that enhance survivability and operational capability for military personnel. Organizations must be MTEC members to act as prime applicants for these funding opportunities.
