MTU Maintenance wins three-year GE90 engine support contract with Garuda Indonesia

MTU Maintenance has finalized a three-year agreement to provide maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for the GE90-115B engines operated by Garuda Indonesia. The contract covers the airline's fleet of eight Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

Technical operations are scheduled to take place at MTU’s facility in Hannover, Germany. To supplement the core maintenance work, the company will leverage its Singapore office to provide leasing and asset management support as needed. The partnership builds upon a business relationship between the two entities that has spanned over two decades.

Garuda Indonesia’s Director of Maintenance, Mukhtaris Aris, stated that the agreement aligns with the airline's focus on maintaining operational readiness for its long-haul network. MTU Maintenance has been involved with the GE90 engine program since 2010, positioning its Hannover site as a primary hub for widebody engine support.

This contract reinforces MTU Maintenance’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region, a key market for widebody engine MRO services. The company currently supports over 1,500 engines annually across its global operations.
