MultiDimension Technology launches high-frequency magnetometer
MultiDimension Technology (MDT) has introduced the HFM2905, a new high-frequency magnetometer. The device enables real-time analysis of magnetic signals.

Zhangjiagang, China-based MultiDimension Technology (MDT), a provider of magnetic sensors and TMR technology, has launched the HFM2905 high-frequency magnetometer. This device expands MDT's USB magnetometer series, which is optimized for low-frequency magnetic field measurements, to include high-frequency signal analysis.
The HFM2905 features a wide bandwidth from DC to 1.6 MHz, an analog BNC output, and integrated signal conditioning. Its compact, USB-powered design makes it suitable for electronics research and development, laboratory investigations, and industrial testing. Unlike traditional low-frequency magnetometers, the HFM2905 can precisely measure rapidly changing magnetic field variations that are difficult to capture with conventional instruments.
MDT states that the HFM2905 leverages the benefits of its TMR magnetic sensor technology, combining broad bandwidth with high sensitivity to weak magnetic fields. This allows for precise real-time analysis of fast-varying magnetic signals. The device can be directly connected to an oscilloscope or data acquisition (DAQ) system for waveform, frequency, and amplitude analysis.
The magnetometer offers selectable gain and low-pass filter settings to optimize measurements. Its USB power requirement eliminates the need for an external power supply, facilitating quick setup. MDT indicates the HFM2905 is suitable for applications including power electronics development, motor drive analysis, and EMI/EMC troubleshooting.
