Municipality of Geeste Outsourcing IT Operations to ITEBO
The municipality of Geeste in the Emsland district has commissioned ITEBO GmbH to support its IT operations. The agreement includes hardware analysis and management, as well as enhanced security for mobile devices.
The municipality of Geeste, located in the Emsland district, has entered into an agreement with ITEBO GmbH for support in its IT operations. This move signifies a strategic shift to streamline IT functions and focus on core administrative competencies.
"A new strategic direction for our IT was imperative," stated Hans Hanenkamp, First Councillor of Geeste municipality. He cited the increasing complexity and demands of maintaining a secure and available IT infrastructure, noting that the municipality's core competencies lie elsewhere. Hanenkamp also highlighted ITEBO's ability to communicate effectively and on an equal footing with municipal staff.
Geeste municipality had managed its IT operations independently since the early 1980s. ITEBO has been involved since 2008, initially managing payroll. This new contract substantially expands the scope of their collaboration.
As a first step, ITEBO is currently analyzing the municipality's hardware in conjunction with local officials. Furthermore, iPads used by council members will be upgraded to a new security standard using ITEBO's Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution. The municipality anticipates integrating more services from ITEBO in the future under a "one-stop-shop" approach.
The collaboration aims to ensure the efficient and secure operation of the municipality's IT infrastructure, allowing administrative staff to concentrate on their primary responsibilities.
