The museum features several thematic stations located outside the actual Hurtigruten ship. These stations, including "Our Boat," "At War," "The Ships," "Along the Route," "Our Time," "In the Beginning," "The Passengers," and "The Risøyrenna," detail the evolution and impact of the Hurtigruten service.
On board the DS Finmarken itself, visitors can access areas such as the smoking lounge, the ladies' and music lounge, and the cabin deck. The museum also presents the history of the Hurtigruten Museum facility, tracing its development from inception to the present day on the second floor, separate from the ship.
