Museum Nord hosted a lecture titled "Traces of Vikings: The History Around Us" at Øksnes museum on May 20. The presentation was delivered by Ole-Andreas Sagmo, an archaeologist and assistant conservator from Lofotr Viking Museum.

The lecture aimed to provide attendees with an introduction to Viking life and society. It specifically highlighted cultural monuments from the Late Iron Age found in the Øksnes area. The event sought to demonstrate how the Viking Age continues to leave its mark on the surrounding landscape and culture.

Participants were invited to revisit their local surroundings with a new perspective, connecting with the region's past. The event included an entrance fee of 100 Norwegian kroner, with complimentary coffee, tea, and snacks offered.

The lecture took place in the museum building, located off the road towards Alsvåggården. This event is part of Museum Nord's ongoing efforts to engage the public with local history and archaeological heritage.
