Musk and Altman spar on X after Apple files OpenAI lawsuit
Elon Musk and Sam Altman engaged in a public dispute on X following Apple's lawsuit against OpenAI for alleged trade secret theft. The conflict highlights the ongoing tensions surrounding the AI company's development.

Billionaires Elon Musk and Sam Altman have reignited a public feud on the social media platform X, following Apple's recent lawsuit against OpenAI. Apple has accused the artificial intelligence company of stealing trade secrets.
Musk, an early co-founder of OpenAI, has been a vocal critic of the company's trajectory and its transition to a for-profit structure. He previously sued OpenAI and Altman, alleging deception.
In a series of posts on X, Musk referred to Altman as "Scam Altman" in reaction to the Apple lawsuit. Referencing his own past legal battle against OpenAI, which he lost, Musk claimed Altman was taking "scamming to a whole new level."
Altman responded to Musk's accusations by referencing SpaceX's recent initial public offering and its plans for space-based data centers. He also made a comment alluding to Musk being "on parole."
