Elon Musk, the prominent technology entrepreneur and investor, has criticized several memory manufacturers for a general price increase in the market. He specifically highlighted Micron Technology for its sensible pricing, describing it as a wise strategy to ensure long-term customer loyalty.

Musk shared his views on his social media platform, X, stating that a significant number of memory makers are currently charging exorbitant prices. In this context, he emphasized Micron's approach, deeming it "an intelligent way to win long-term customer loyalty."

This commentary comes at a time when Tesla, which Musk leads, has reduced the DRAM capacity for its AI chips. For instance, the LPDDR5 capacity for the AI5 chip was decreased from 144GB to 96GB, and the LPDDR6 capacity for the AI6 chip from 216GB to 144GB, representing a one-third reduction in both cases.

Musk's remarks underscore his concern over component costs and pricing practices within the supply chain for major technology companies. Micron's position in the memory market is significant, and its pricing strategies can influence the overall price levels within the industry.
