Musk's AI Chatbot Grok Reportedly Advised Trump on Capturing Venezuela's President
Elon Musk's AI chatbot Grok reportedly provided guidance to former President Donald Trump regarding the capture of Venezuela's president. Trump is said to have consulted Grok before a military operation in Venezuela in 2026.

Elon Musk's AI chatbot Grok allegedly advised former President Donald Trump on a plan to capture Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, according to a report by Time magazine. The report indicates that Trump spent hours consulting with Grok in December 2025, a month before U.S. military forces invaded Venezuela and apprehended Maduro.
During their discussions, Trump reportedly asked Grok about potential Venezuelan reactions to their president's capture. This consultation occurred after Trump had initiated military strikes against Venezuelan vessels suspected of drug trafficking in September 2025.
Sources told Time that Grok characterized Maduro as a "deeply unpopular dictator" and suggested that many Venezuelans would likely celebrate his downfall. Following the U.S. invasion in January 2026 and Maduro's subsequent capture, celebrations did occur, which reportedly led Trump to consider Grok "ingenious."
The revelations about Grok's alleged influence on political and military decisions emerge amid broader discussions on the role of AI in governmental and defense sectors. Earlier this year, the Pentagon's head of AI reportedly stated that the military had utilized Gov Grok for strategic strikes during the Iran War.
