MyMonthlyCar Platform Turns Idle Dealer Cars Into Rental Revenue

MyMonthlyCar has launched a platform enabling car dealerships to rent out their idle used car inventory on a month-to-month basis. The service aims to generate revenue from unused vehicles while offering consumers a flexible car rental option.

Tech startup MyMonthlyCar has introduced a platform designed to convert idle used car inventory at dealerships into rental revenue. The company identified that many vehicles on dealership lots represent depreciating assets while consumers needing cars for short periods face limited and expensive choices.

MyMonthlyCar's service allows car dealers to rent out their available used cars on a monthly subscription basis, with an option for the renter to purchase the vehicle. This model provides dealerships an avenue to monetize vehicles that might otherwise sit unsold and lose value, potentially improving their inventory turnover.

Founder Igor Dobrianskyi stated the platform addresses a dual market need: assisting dealers in maximizing the value of their stock and offering consumers a more flexible and potentially cost-effective alternative to traditional car ownership or long-term leases. This is particularly aimed at individuals who require a vehicle for a few months rather than indefinitely.

The company was showcased at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco from October 13-15. This event provided a platform for MyMonthlyCar to gain visibility among investors and industry professionals as it seeks to expand its network of participating dealerships.
