Mynd.ai's Promethean Brand Launches On-Device AI Assistant for Teachers

Mynd.ai announced on September 30, 2026, that its subsidiary Promethean has launched an AI Companion for its Explain Everything app. This new tool leverages on-device artificial intelligence enabled by Apple to help educators transform existing classroom content into tailored teaching materials in seconds.

The AI Companion allows educators to select any element on an Explain Everything page—including text, an image, or a drawing—and generate content that fits naturally into their lesson. It can produce materials such as lesson plans, quizzes, vocabulary lists, and suggestions for next steps or activities to deepen understanding.

Furthermore, the tool can create audio narrations, translate text for non-native English speakers, and generate accessibility descriptions. The AI functionality operates entirely on the user's device without an internet connection, ensuring data privacy. This feature is available on compatible Apple devices that support Apple Intelligence.

Explain Everything is Promethean's award-winning lesson creation and delivery software, with over 25 million downloads worldwide.
