Nagoshi Studio officially shuts down operations
Game developer Nagoshi Studio has formally entered liquidation following the withdrawal of its primary financial backing earlier this year.
Nagoshi Studio, founded by former Sega producer Toshihiro Nagoshi, has officially ceased operations. A public notice in the Japanese Official Gazette confirms that the company was dissolved following a shareholder vote on October 31, 2026.
The closure follows a period of financial instability for the studio. In March 2026, NetEase confirmed it would discontinue funding the project, which led to the immediate removal of the studio’s digital presence, including its official website and YouTube channel.
Before the studio's collapse, it had been developing a project titled "Gang of Dragon." Reports indicate that Toshihiro Nagoshi is currently seeking employment at other development houses. Liquidator Minoru Morinaga has mandated that creditors submit claims within two months of the announcement.
