Nanoramic Launches Standard Catalog of Battery Material Precursors

Nanoramic has introduced a standard catalog of its Neocarbonix® Slurry Precursor (NXSP™) materials. The company states the product is designed for immediate integration into existing battery manufacturing processes, aiming to lower the cost per kWh and enhance the performance of lithium-ion batteries.

The NXSP material is intended as a direct replacement for conventional binders and additives in both battery cathodes and anodes. Nanoramic claims it can be implemented without requiring changes to existing production equipment, leading to improved mechanical and electrochemical properties across various applications, including electric vehicles, energy storage, and consumer electronics.

According to Nanoramic, NXSP is compatible with multiple lithium-ion chemistries such as NCM, NCA, and LFP, as well as emerging technologies like sodium-ion and solid-state batteries. For cathodes, the company reports benefits including higher active material content, increased mass loading, reduced resistance, and better mechanical flexibility. For anodes, NXSP is said to address issues related to silicon expansion and cycle-life stability.

John Cooley, Founder and CEO of Nanoramic, stated that the release of the standard product catalog addresses broadening demand across key applications. He also noted that the company's expanded mass production capacity, brought online earlier this year, positions them for rapid growth.
