NASA Awards PlanetiQ $3.3 Million for GNSS Data and Ionospheric Research
NASA has awarded PlanetiQ a $3.3 million contract for its GNSS-PRO technology and ionospheric data. Researchers will gain access to PlanetiQ's atmospheric and space weather observations.

GOLDEN, Colo. – NASA has awarded PlanetiQ a $3.3 million contract for the company's GNSS-PRO technology and ionospheric Total Electron Content (TEC) data. The award will provide researchers with access to PlanetiQ's high-signal-to-noise ratio GNSS polarimetric radio occultation and ionospheric observations.
The acquisition is intended to support research into atmospheric conditions and space weather. PlanetiQ's technology utilizes the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) to take precise measurements of Earth's upper atmosphere.
The data covers both polar radio occultation and ionospheric TEC measurements. This information is critical for understanding the dynamics of Earth's atmosphere and space weather phenomena, such as geomagnetic storms.
PlanetiQ has previously gathered significant GNSS data for various research and commercial purposes. This contract further solidifies its role as a provider of space weather data.
