Nasdaq Nordic to Change Auction Data Values for Equity Instruments

Nasdaq Nordic will implement changes to the values for trading data related to opening, intraday, and closing auctions for equity instruments. The changes are scheduled to take effect on November 16, 2026.

19 October 2026

Nasdaq Nordic, a global market infrastructure provider, has announced modifications to the values returned in market data messages concerning auctions for equity instruments. These adjustments will apply to Nasdaq Nordic's markets and are set to be implemented on November 16, 2026.

The changes aim to clarify and enhance the classification of the trading systems used. Specifically, the values for opening auctions, scheduled and unscheduled intraday auctions (including volatility and halt release auctions), and closing auctions in equity instruments will be updated. These modifications are driven by regulatory clarifications.

These updated values will be disseminated through outbound FIX and market data messages. The intention is to ensure efficient and transparent pre-trade and post-trade transparency as mandated by Delegated Regulation (EU) 2017/587 (RTS 1). The changes specifically pertain to the VenueType and MMT Level 1 values.

Nasdaq Nordic has previously communicated technical updates regarding these changes. Detailed technical specifications are available through the company's official announcements and website.
