National Civics Competition to Feature Top Young Minds on C-SPAN

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation is set to hold its third annual National Civics Bee Championship on October 14 in Washington D.C., bringing together 52 middle school students to test their knowledge of American government, the Constitution, and civic challenges.
Finalists from all 50 states, Washington D.C., and American Samoa will compete for the national title. This year marks the first time the championship will be televised and streamed live on C-SPAN, expanding its reach to a national audience. Emmy-nominated actor and host Jerry O'Connell will emcee the event.
The championship is the culmination of a nationwide competition that engaged over 20,000 students. Participants advanced through local and state competitions organized with chambers of commerce, addressing real-world issues such as youth mental health, screen time in schools, and food insecurity.
The winner will receive the Bill Daniels National Civics Award and a $100,000 529 education savings plan. The competition aims to elevate civics education as a national priority. Last year's champion was Aarit Koul from Jackson Township, Ohio.
