National Geographic to Release 9/11 Documentary Series Focusing on Survivor Reunions

National Geographic is set to release a new three-episode documentary series titled 9/11: Reunited. The series focuses on survivors of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, highlighting the bonds formed among them.

The series is directed by Julian Jones, who also worked on NatGeo's Emmy-winning 2021 documentary miniseries, 9/11: One Day in America. That experience inspired his return to the subject matter.

"We wanted to bring people together to offer gratitude to each other, to answer unanswered questions, and to talk about things that maybe they weren't ready to talk about until now," Jones stated. He added that the series also explores "9/12," representing the lives of survivors in the aftermath of the attacks, including their potential psychological and physical struggles.

9/11: Reunited aims to reunite individuals whose paths crossed on the day of the attacks, providing them an opportunity to reconnect and discuss their experiences 25 years later.
