National Gingerbread House Competition Opens Entries for 2026 Event
The Omni Grove Park Inn & Spa has opened registration for its 34th annual National Gingerbread House Competition, scheduled for November 16.

Asheville, NC – The Omni Grove Park Inn & Spa is now accepting entries for its 34th annual National Gingerbread House Competition, set to take place on November 16. This event continues a long-standing holiday tradition, drawing bakers and artists from across the United States.
The competition, which culminates in judging and an awards ceremony on November 16, accepts entries until November 9. Participants will present gingerbread creations ranging from simple cottages to complex architectural designs. This year, the judging panel will include two new notable culinary artists: pastry chef Sasha Aleksandra Nary and cookie artist Rabiha Sami.
Originally starting in 1992 with a small local display, the competition has grown into a nationally recognized event. It attracts professional chefs, amateur bakers, and artists, with over 20,000 visitors annually attending the display. The gingerbread creations will be on public view from November 17 through January 3, 2027.
Beyond the competition, The Omni Grove Park Inn & Spa also supports local nonprofits in Buncombe County through a portion of its parking proceeds, having contributed over $1.4 million since 2013.
