National Healthcare and Housing Advisors expands recuperative care operations
California-based NHHA marks five years of scaling integrated housing and recuperative care services with new facility expansions and institutional investment.

National Healthcare and Housing Advisors (NHHA) marked its five-year anniversary in November 2026, reporting a rapid expansion of its recuperative care model. Since its inception in 2021, the firm has established multiple community care campuses across California and expanded its consulting footprint to 32 counties. The organization is now scaling its operational model into five additional U.S. states.
The core of the NHHA model involves managing the transition between hospital discharge and community reintegration. By providing wraparound services—such as behavioral health support, housing navigation, and pharmacy services—NHHA claims it provides a more cost-effective alternative to inpatient hospital stays. In June 2026, the company secured a $10 million investment from Health Net and the Centene Foundation to expand its Long Beach facility.
NHHA operates a centralized referral center that uses proprietary software to monitor admissions and bed utilization across its network. According to CEO Paul Leon, the objective of this infrastructure is to provide the accountability necessary for health plans and government agencies to support the scalability of recuperative care.
