National Safety Council Joins OSHA's Serious Injury and Fatality Prevention Alliance

The National Safety Council (NSC) has joined the Serious Injury and Fatality Prevention Alliance, a collaborative initiative formed by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The alliance aims to reduce serious injuries and fatalities in the workplace by providing employers with training and resources to identify and eliminate high-risk hazards.

The alliance is a partnership between OSHA, NSC, and several other organizations, including the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), and the University of Colorado Boulder's Construction Safety Research Alliance (CSRA). The goal is to advance the prevention of serious injuries and fatalities.

"Preventing serious incidents and fatalities requires a deliberate focus on the risks with the greatest potential to cause harm," said NSC CEO Lorraine Martin. "By bringing together OSHA, NSC, and leading safety organizations, this alliance can help employers turn knowledge into action and ultimately save lives."

The alliance will develop and disseminate resources for serious injury and fatality prevention, effective practices, training, and practical solutions for employers, workers, and safety professionals. The NSC's commitment to advancing serious incident and fatality prevention is part of the organization's broader work.
