Navee, a manufacturer of innovative mobility products, has announced the launch of its Wavefly 5X hovercraft. This new craft is designed to skim at low altitudes above the water surface, offering consumers a flight-like experience. The product is available for purchase immediately, with a price tag of $200,000 USD (approximately 1.358 million Chinese yuan).
The Wavefly 5X is described as the world's first high-speed boat to apply ground effect technology (Wing-In-Ground effect). It is equipped with four propellers, each powered by an electric motor capable of delivering up to 8000W. When all four motors operate at maximum output, the craft can reach a top speed of approximately 53 miles per hour (85.3 kilometers per hour).
By flying close to the water's surface, the Wavefly 5X avoids the jarring impacts experienced by traditional speedboats, resulting in a smoother ride. The craft is fully electric, offering a maximum range of about 50 miles (80.5 kilometers) and a flight time of up to 70 minutes. It also supports fast battery swapping to extend operational duration.
Navee states the product is "very easy to get started with" and can be operated by individuals familiar with conventional boats, without requiring a pilot's license.
