NAVER, Brookfield, NVIDIA Expand South Korea's AI Factory Infrastructure
NAVER, Brookfield, and NVIDIA have announced an expansion of South Korea's national AI factory infrastructure. New investments will increase the initial NVIDIA DSX AI factory deployment from 55 megawatts to 200 megawatts.
South Korean internet giant NAVER, along with investment firm Brookfield and chipmaker NVIDIA, announced an expansion of the country's sovereign AI factory infrastructure. The project will increase the initial AI computing capacity from 55 megawatts to 200 megawatts, utilizing NVIDIA's DSX platform.
The expanded infrastructure will be located at NAVER's GAK Sejong hyperscale data center in Sejong, South Korea. This upgrade aims to provide AI innovators in South Korea and the U.S. with access to production-scale compute power for developing next-generation AI models and services.
Brookfield will serve as the exclusive capital partner, funding up to $9 billion, while NVIDIA will invest $1 billion. NAVER will cover the remaining costs for the $10 billion project, solidifying a collaborative approach to infrastructure development.
This expansion builds on NAVER's strategy to establish gigawatt-scale sovereign AI infrastructure. The partnership leverages Brookfield's capital and NVIDIA's AI computing platform to support NAVER's AI factory deployment and foster collaboration on open AI model development.
