Navitaire touts cloud-native platform benefits for airlines
Amadeus subsidiary Navitaire is emphasizing the advantages of its cloud-native technology solutions for airlines, particularly low-cost carriers. The company announced the full migration of all its airline customers to Microsoft Azure.

Navitaire, an Amadeus company, is highlighting the benefits of its cloud-native technology solutions for airlines, particularly focusing on low-cost carriers (LCCs). The company announced in early 2024 that all its airline customers have been successfully fully deployed onto Microsoft Azure's cloud platform.
This migration marks a significant milestone in the strategic partnership between Amadeus and Microsoft. Navitaire asserts that its cloud-native offerings enable the creation of new revenue streams for airlines through enhanced retailing and personalization capabilities. The company has a history of pioneering advancements, such as product unbundling.
According to Navitaire, its clients consistently lead industry rankings in ancillary revenue as a percentage of total revenue. In 2022, the top eight carriers in this category utilized Navitaire's platform, with ancillary sales forming 35% to 51% of their total revenue.
The company contends that cloud-native architecture provides a significant competitive edge, facilitating scalable and cost-effective launching of new features. Navitaire is further investing in integrating analytics, artificial intelligence, and social media commerce to bolster airlines' digital and retail capabilities.
