NBA 2K27 Trailer Reveals Cross-Platform Auction House, New Dunk Mechanic
2K has released the first gameplay trailer for NBA 2K27, set to launch globally on September 4. Key new features include a cross-platform auction house and a dynamic dunk meter.

Videogame publisher 2K revealed the first gameplay trailer for its upcoming basketball simulation, NBA 2K27, on July 28. Developed by Visual Concepts, the title is slated for a worldwide release on September 4 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Players who pre-order the Deluxe or Hall of Fame editions will gain early access seven days prior.
The trailer showcased several gameplay enhancements designed to offer a more balanced on-court experience. The AI defensive player logic for shot contesting and positioning has been improved. A new dynamic dunk meter has been introduced, which analyzes defender proximity from jump to finish, offering larger success windows for open dunks and smaller ones when contested.
Several modes are receiving significant updates. The MyCAREER mode features a fully realized virtual Rucker Park as the centerpiece for a new prologue story, 'Fire & Concrete.' The central 'City' area sports a new neon-noir nighttime aesthetic. In MyPLAYER, the total number of badges increases from 40 to 53, with 19 new badges added, including 'Pace' for sprint speed and 'Wall-Up' for contested shot defense.
For MyTEAM, a highly requested feature is the introduction of a cross-platform auction house, enabling trading between PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and NS2 players. However, PC players will maintain a separate auction house. Crossplay functionality, allowing online matches between different console platforms, will be limited to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
2K will host a full "Preseason Breakdown: NBA 2K27 Game Reveal" livestream on August 18 to detail further additions and changes. The game is also set to introduce new limitations to the MyNBA mode, including the 'second apron' salary cap and the option to add 'non-trade clauses' for free agents.
