NCC office building We Land receives first BREEAM Outstanding certification in Finland
The newly completed We Land office complex in Helsinki is the first newly constructed building in Finland to achieve the top BREEAM Outstanding rating.
NCC’s We Land office development has officially achieved a BREEAM New Construction Outstanding rating, marking the first time a new office building in Finland has reached this environmental benchmark. While the standard is used globally, this project distinguishes itself by meeting the rigorous criteria of the international assessment program.
According to Yirui Jiang, Head of NCC Property Development Finland, the project required significant technical coordination and shared sustainability goals with anchor tenants such as Deloitte and Helen. The building received its initial design-stage certification in 2022, with the final assessment conducted following the property's completion in 2024.
JKMM Architects served as the lead designer, while Sweco acted as the BREEAM expert for the project. Although NCC has utilized BREEAM for over a decade, most of its prior projects achieved an Excellent rating. The achievement of the Outstanding level serves as an escalation in the company’s environmental development standards.
