Construction company NCC has signed a contract valued at approximately SEK 170 million to build a pumping station in Stehag, Skåne.
The project includes the construction and commissioning of a fully equipped pumping station and an associated backup power plant. The new facility will connect to a new water pipeline from the Bolmen Water Tunnel and is crucial for supplying drinking water to the Skåne region.
Sydvatten CEO Mattias Leijon highlighted the significance of the collaboration. "We look forward to working with NCC – a company with extensive experience from similar projects," Leijon stated. "The facility is an important component in supplying all partner municipalities with drinking water long-term."
NCC possesses experience in complex water and wastewater projects, including the construction of Helsingborg's new water tower. Planning is set to begin after the summer, with construction commencing in late 2026 or early 2027. The new pumping station is scheduled for completion by the end of 2028.
