NCC to construct 135 apartments for HSB in Gothenburg

NCC has been contracted by HSB Gothenburg to construct 135 tenant-owner apartments within the Fixfabriken urban development project in western Gothenburg. The order value amounts to approximately SEK 285 million and will be registered in NCC Building Sweden during the first quarter of 2020.

The Fixfabriken project is a collaboration between HSB Gothenburg and Fastighets AB Balder aimed at densifying the area between Sandarna, Klippan, and Kungsladugård. NCC's scope involves a turnkey contract executed through partnering, encompassing the construction of 135 apartments ranging from studios to four-bedroom units. The buildings will vary from three to ten stories high, featuring eight stairwells, and each apartment will include a balcony or patio. The contract also covers common areas such as laundry rooms and courtyards.

Earth and groundwork have commenced and are expected to continue through June. Construction is scheduled to begin in August 2020, with project completion anticipated in 2022. The HSB brf Sannaparken apartments will be environmentally certified to the Sweden Green Building Council's Silver level, imposing strict requirements on energy consumption, indoor climate, and material selection.
