Construction company NCC has signed a contract with Svenska kraftnät to construct 70 kilometers of new 400 kV high-voltage overhead power lines in Sweden's Västra Götaland region.
The project, named Horred-Breared, will see a new line built between the Breared substation in Halmstad Municipality and the Horred substation in Mark Municipality. Existing lines will be dismantled as part of the undertaking. This contract represents the first phase of the Västra Götaland business package that NCC and Svenska kraftnät agreed upon in August 2025.
Planning, design, and preliminary work for the project began in 2025. Full-scale production now commences following the contract signing. The order value, which will be registered within NCC's Infrastructure business area, is approximately SEK 1 billion. The project is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2029.
The agreement underscores NCC's capabilities in large-scale energy infrastructure projects. The company highlights its in-depth expertise and experience in managing complex construction undertakings, which supports the implementation of future sub-projects.
