NCC to spin off Industry business area into independent subsidiary
Construction firm NCC has decided to restructure its Industry division into a standalone company, abandoning plans for a potential divestment.
Swedish construction group NCC will establish its Industry business area as an independent company under its corporate umbrella. The decision follows a strategic review conducted in 2025 that explored potential ownership models for the division, which operates under a business model distinct from the company's traditional contracting operations.
While the firm previously evaluated a potential sale of the division due to strong market interest, CEO Tomas Carlsson stated that the company concluded the business would generate more long-term value as an internal entity. The restructuring is intended to provide the division with greater operational autonomy and sharpened focus.
NCC will retain full ownership of the new entity. Grete Aspelund has been appointed as the new company’s CEO, while Tomas Carlsson will serve as chairman of the board. The change marks a shift in strategy to decouple the industrial unit's management from the parent firm's construction activities.
