NCL GT20 Canada to Stage 2026 Tournament in Caribbean

NCL GT20 Canada, the professional T20 franchise tournament of Canada, has announced that its 2026 edition will be staged in the Caribbean. The tournament is scheduled to take place in St. Vincent and the Grenadines during October and November, serving as a bridge between Canadian and West Indies cricket before returning to Canada in 2027.

The relocation to the Caribbean for 2026 is intended to foster integration between Canadian and West Indies cricket by connecting players, administrators, fans, and commercial partners. Cricket Canada and Cricket West Indies (CWI) will collaborate under a joint governance and regulatory framework for the event.

The 2026 tournament aims to unite Canadian, Caribbean, and international talent on a single platform. It presents an opportunity to strengthen player pathways between Canada and the Caribbean and build relationships that can continue when the competition returns to Canadian soil next year. Canadian and emerging North American players will compete alongside established Caribbean and international cricketers.

Cricket West Indies will participate in the governance and regulatory coordination and will also hold a direct franchise investment. This partnership is seen as a step towards creating sustainable sporting and commercial connections across the Americas.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines has welcomed the opportunity to host the league, with the event expected to bring together international players and showcase the Caribbean as a destination for major sporting events, while also boosting international visibility and economic activity.
