NDR program explores Oldenburg's Münsterland: tradition meets innovation

NDR television's program "die nordstory Spezial - Oldenburger Münsterland" takes viewers on a journey through the Oldenburg's Münsterland region in the German state of Lower Saxony. The program highlights the area's rich culture, economy, and tourism, focusing on people who preserve traditions while developing new ideas.

The episode follows the "3-Seen-Route," a 260-kilometer cycling path that winds past the region's three largest bodies of water: Lake Dümmer, the Thülsfeld Reservoir, and the Bad Zwischenahn Sea. The route traverses diverse landscapes, from moors and lakes to idyllic towns and unique businesses.

The program also follows the breeding of noble Oldenburg horses by the Von Merveldt family and their success in global markets and equestrian sports.

A more exotic venture is presented by the Looschen family's Wagyu cattle farm near the Thülsfeld Reservoir. Though previously involved in pig farming, their Wagyu beef operation has grown to over 100 animals of this prized breed. They actively work to develop new customer bases for their high-priced meat, with a segment showing their participation in the Stoppelmarkt agricultural fair in Vechta.

The program concludes with the success story of Christian Koopmann, who at just 28 years old has fulfilled a major dream by building a thriving business and gaining national recognition for constructing Tiny Houses.
