NDR rebrands long-running television program DAS!
Broadcaster NDR has announced a rebranding of its flagship show DAS! to "DAS! Rote Sofa" alongside a studio renovation focused on energy efficiency.

Effective August 18, German public broadcaster NDR is renaming its established television program "DAS!" to "DAS! Rote Sofa." The change aligns the official title with the common viewer designation for the show, which has been a staple of regional broadcasting for nearly 35 years.
The rebranding coincides with a studio update aimed at reducing the production's environmental footprint. The new set design features energy-efficient LED lighting and a modular configuration designed for long-term sustainability and versatile production setups.
"DAS! Rote Sofa" remains a significant asset for NDR, maintaining a 14.2% average market share in Northern Germany between January and July 2025. The program will continue its daily 45-minute live schedule at 18:45, covering a mix of regional news, magazine features, and guest interviews.
