Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) has announced three featured series now available for viewing on public streaming platforms. The selections, "The Gold," "Kabul - Flucht aus der Hölle," and "Kleine schmutzige Briefe," offer diverse dramatic experiences for audiences.
"The Gold" is a crime drama based on the true events of the 1983 Brink's-Mat robbery near London Heathrow Airport. The series chronicles the efforts of six armed robbers who stole three tons of gold worth £26 million, and their subsequent challenges in converting the loot into cash, alongside the police investigation. The first season details the heist and the ensuing hunt, while the second season explores the fate of the stolen gold. Starring Hugh Bonneville, the complete series is accessible on ARD Mediathek until August 23.
"Kabul - Flucht aus der Hölle" is a drama series set against the backdrop of the chaotic withdrawal of NATO forces from Afghanistan in the summer of 2021. It follows an Afghan family's desperate attempt to escape the country amid the Taliban's rapid takeover. The series depicts the human struggle and survival in Kabul during this turbulent period and is available on ZDF's streaming service.
