Care Health Plan and Blue Shield of California Promise Health Plan have distributed nearly 16,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to students in Los Angeles County for the start of the 2026-2027 academic year. The initiative aimed to equip students with necessary resources for academic success.
In addition to school supplies, the programs connected families with health services and community resources at multiple distribution sites across the county. This effort sought to ensure students began the school year prepared both academically and health-wise.
By providing essential school materials and linking families with vital community services, L.A. Care and Blue Shield Promise aim to alleviate financial burdens on households and promote student well-being. The organizations highlighted the importance of community support for educational readiness.
