Prestige Brands Holdings is voluntarily recalling approximately 39,060 bottles of its Clear Eyes Maximum Itch Eye Relief drops. The recall was initiated due to a lack of assurance of sterility, meaning the product could contain harmful contaminants. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) classified the recall as Class II, a designation for products where use or exposure may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.

The affected product has lot number 2552A and an expiration date of September 30, 2027. The eye drops were distributed nationwide. The FDA advises consumers who purchased the recalled drops to stop using them immediately, discard them, or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.

This recall is the latest in a series of high-profile recalls of eye drop products due to similar concerns about sterility and contamination. In recent months, other major brands have also faced recalls involving potential foreign substances or unverified sterility, raising broader industry-wide quality control questions.
