Deliveries are scheduled to take place throughout 2027 and 2028. Nel states that the stacks will be manufactured at the company's facility in Wallingford, Connecticut. The company has supplied specialized applications for this defense sector customer for many years.
The order is understood to reflect growing demand for Nel's technology in defense applications, where reliability and long service life are paramount. Nel ASA specializes in PEM and alkaline electrolysis technologies for the production of renewable hydrogen.
