Nel ASA Receives US Navy Order from Collins Aerospace
Hydrogen technology company Nel ASA has secured a purchase order worth approximately USD 12 million from Collins Aerospace for electrolyser stacks to be used in US Navy submarine life-support systems.
Nel Hydrogen US, a subsidiary of Norway-based Nel ASA, has received a purchase order valued at approximately USD 12 million from Collins Aerospace. The order is for PEM electrolyser stacks, which will be utilized to generate oxygen for life-support systems on US Navy submarines.
Deliveries are scheduled to take place throughout 2027 and 2028. The stacks will be manufactured at Nel's facility in Wallingford, Connecticut. This contract highlights Nel's role as a supplier for critical defense applications where reliability and longevity are paramount.
Nel ASA, established in 1927, specializes in PEM and alkaline electrolyser technologies for the production of renewable hydrogen. The company's solutions aim to facilitate decarbonization across various industries, including transportation, refining, and steel manufacturing.
