Neste Analyzes US Transition to Renewable Energy Solutions
Finnish company Neste Oyj has analyzed the US shift from fossil fuels to renewables, highlighting legislation like the Inflation Reduction Act and earlier policies supporting sector growth.

Neste Oyj, a global leader in renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel, has provided an assessment of the United States' ongoing transition towards renewable energy solutions.
The company notes that over the past decade, the US has been gradually moving away from fossil fuels to embrace renewable energy sources, aligning with goals for energy independence. This shift has been significantly influenced by legislative actions, including the landmark Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, which offers tax credits and funding for renewable energy projects.
Earlier policies have also been instrumental. California's introduction of a low-carbon fuel standard in 2007, followed by the federal Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA) the same year, mandated an increase in biofuel production. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has since extended these renewable fuel volume targets into 2025, underscoring a consistent policy direction.
Neste emphasizes that these renewable solutions are crucial for the US's move towards a lower-carbon economy. The company indicates that the sector is poised for continued growth, supported by legislative frameworks and increasing demand for sustainable alternatives in transportation and other industries.
