Neste and World Fuel Services expand renewable aviation fuel distribution in Europe
Neste has signed a five-year agreement with World Fuel Services to expand the supply of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) across more than 100 European airports.
Neste and World Fuel Services have extended their supply partnership with a five-year contract designed to increase the availability of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) across the latter’s UK and European network. The agreement covers more than 100 airports and aims to serve commercial, business, and general aviation clients.
The partnership is intended to help operators meet tightening environmental regulations, including the European Union's ReFuelEU Aviation requirements and the UK's SAF mandate. By integrating Neste’s refining output—supported by its facility in Rotterdam—with World Fuel Services’ logistics network, the companies aim to ensure a consistent supply of renewable fuel for the European aviation sector.
Neste is currently scaling its annual SAF production capacity from 1.5 million tons to 2.2 million tons by 2027. Carl Nyberg, Senior Vice President of Commercial Renewable Products at Neste, noted that leveraging established airport distribution networks is essential to providing the necessary supply flexibility as regulatory pressure on the aviation industry intensifies.
