Neste builds Nolla cabin near Helsinki to test low-emission living

Neste Corporation has built a prototype Nolla cabin on Vallisari island near Helsinki, designed to minimize carbon dioxide emissions and impact on nature.

The cabin serves as an experiment in low-emission living, showcasing how modern solutions can enable sustainable cabin life. Constructed from sustainable materials, the compact and mobile unit is designed for minimal environmental disturbance during assembly and transport.

Energy for the cabin is entirely renewable, with electricity generated by solar panels. Heating and cooking are facilitated by a Wallas stove running on Neste MY Renewable Diesel, produced from waste and residues. The ferry service to the island also utilizes this renewable fuel.

The Nolla cabin, designed by Robin Falck, will be available for public viewing until the end of September. This initiative is part of Neste's wider Journey to Zero project, aimed at promoting cleaner energy solutions.
