Neste completes gas pipeline connection for LNG terminal vessel in record time

Neste Engineering Solutions has finalized its contribution to the natural gas pipeline project for Gasgrid Finland's floating LNG terminal vessel, Exemplar, located in the deep harbor of Inkoo, Finland. The 2.2-kilometer transmission pipeline connects the terminal to the main Finnish gas network and is crucial for securing Finland's gas supply.

Work commenced in June 2022, with the most demanding stages completed during the same year. Neste reported that the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) services were delivered within schedule. Patrick von Essen, Senior Vice President, Engineering Solutions at Neste, expressed pride in the company's role and expertise in natural gas infrastructure.

The project by Gasgrid Finland involves a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) aimed at ensuring gas availability for industry, energy production, and households, thereby safeguarding Finland's energy security from winter 2023 onwards.

Neste Engineering Solutions was responsible for the detailed design, material procurement, contracting, and construction management for the pipeline and its necessary equipment. The first natural gas molecules flowed through the pipeline on December 29, 2022.
