Neste Expands Sustainable Aviation Fuel Availability from Texas to Eastern US
Neste has commissioned new terminal capacity in Houston, Texas, expanding the availability of its sustainable aviation fuel to airports in the central and eastern United States.

Neste Corporation has commissioned terminal capacity at ONEOK’s facility in Houston, Texas, for the blending and storage of Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). This expansion is a significant step towards increasing the availability of SAF for airlines operating from airports east of the Rocky Mountains to the East Coast.
The new capacity at ONEOK’s Houston terminal provides Neste with storage for up to 100,000 tons of SAF and is directly connected to the energy pipeline infrastructure serving the eastern U.S. In 2022, Neste successfully demonstrated its ability to supply SAF to New York’s LaGuardia Airport using existing fuel distribution pipelines. The company also expanded its delivery capabilities to the U.S. West Coast in September 2023.
"This expansion of our SAF supply capabilities, working together with partners such as ONEOK, underlines our commitment to supporting the U.S. aviation industry’s decarbonization efforts," said Alexander Kueper, Vice President, Renewable Aviation Business at Neste. Greg Lusardi, senior vice president of corporate development at ONEOK, expressed that the company is proud to leverage its infrastructure to facilitate growth in sustainable fuels markets.
Sustainable aviation fuel is a renewable alternative to conventional fossil jet fuel, capable of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% over its lifecycle. Neste's SAF is produced from 100% renewable waste and residue raw materials, such as used cooking oil and animal fat waste. It is blended with conventional jet fuel before use and is fully compatible with existing aircraft engines and fueling infrastructure.
