Neste Extends Partnership with World Fuel Services for Sustainable Aviation Fuel Availability

Finnish energy company Neste has extended its agreement with World Fuel Services, a World Kinect company. The new five-year contract will increase the availability of Neste-supplied sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at more than 100 airports within World Fuel's UK and European network.

The expanded partnership will assist World Fuel Services in meeting customer supply demands and complying with upcoming regulations, including the EU's ReFuelEU Aviation initiative and the UK's SAF mandate. The collaboration strengthens both companies' roles in reducing aviation's environmental impact.

This agreement leverages World Fuel's extensive distribution network and infrastructure alongside Neste's SAF production capabilities. Neste operates a renewable fuels refinery in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, with a current annual SAF production capacity of approximately 500,000 tons, and plans significant increases in overall production capacity in the coming years.

The use of sustainable aviation fuel can reduce greenhouse gas emissions over the fuel's lifecycle by up to 80% compared to conventional fossil jet fuel. Neste's SAF is produced from 100% renewable waste and residue raw materials, such as used cooking oil and animal fat waste.
