Neste extends sustainable aviation fuel supply agreements with United Airlines
Neste and United Airlines have extended their agreements for the supply of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in the US and the Netherlands. The extended contract focuses on reducing aviation emissions.
Espoo – Neste Corporation and United Airlines have extended their agreements for the supply of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The extended contract covers deliveries to Chicago O'Hare International Airport in the United States and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol in the Netherlands.
Under the terms of the extended agreement, Neste will supply Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel, blended with conventional jet fuel, to United Airlines. Deliveries to Amsterdam began in June 2026 and will continue through August. Deliveries to Chicago O'Hare commenced in July 2026 and are planned to continue until June 2027.
United Airlines was the first airline globally to operate flights using blended SAF and reported using over 83,000 metric tons of SAF in 2025. The airline has expanded its SAF usage to several of its hub airports.
Neste views SAF as a key solution for reducing aviation's greenhouse gas emissions. The company's current SAF production capacity stands at 1.5 million metric tons per year and is projected to increase to 2.2 million metric tons annually by 2027, following the expansion of its Rotterdam refinery.
