Finnish company Neste Oyj has announced a new partnership, joining forces with Goldwin, Idemitsu, and Toray. The collaboration aims to supply renewable nylon fiber for use in THE NORTH FACE brand.
The partnership focuses on integrating renewable materials into the textile industry. Neste's role will be to provide renewable diesel, which serves as a raw material in the manufacturing process of nylon fiber. This material will then be incorporated into THE NORTH FACE products, produced by Japanese company Goldwin.
The initiative seeks to reduce the fashion industry's carbon footprint and promote circular economy principles. By utilizing renewable fuels, the reliance on fossil-based raw materials is diminished, consequently lowering the life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions associated with production.
