Neste Opens Shanghai Office, Begins Raw Material Sourcing in China

Neste Oyj has established a new office in Shanghai, China, marking a strategic move to begin sourcing renewable raw materials from the region. This expansion is intended to enhance Neste's global supply chain for its renewable diesel, jet fuel, and other sustainable product lines.

The Shanghai office will focus on acquiring waste and residue raw materials, particularly from China's eastern coastal areas, with plans to extend sourcing to other major cities over time. This initiative aligns with Neste's strategy to increase the proportion of waste and residue materials in its production feedstock.

Neste is a significant global producer of renewable diesel, utilizing proprietary technology to refine diverse low-quality raw materials. The company states that its products help customers reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The sourcing expansion in China is expected to support Neste's existing production facilities located in Singapore, the Netherlands, and Finland.

The Shanghai office operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Neste and is situated in the Jing’an Kerry Centre. Neste aims to increase its total renewable products production capacity to 4.5 million tons annually by 2022 through ongoing expansions.
