Neste Partners with Goldwin, Idemitsu, and Toray for Renewable Nylon Fiber Supply

Helsinki – Neste Oyj, a chemical company, has announced a partnership with Japanese firms Goldwin and Idemitsu, along with Toray. The agreement focuses on supplying renewable nylon fiber for use by the outdoor apparel brand, The North Face.

This collaboration seeks to significantly decrease the climate impact associated with textiles. The renewable nylon offers an alternative to materials derived from fossil fuels. The partners aim to collectively reduce carbon emissions from production and advance circular economy principles within the textile industry.

The renewable nylon is produced using a sustainable process developed by Neste. The adoption of this material is part of a broader initiative to transition away from fossil-based raw materials across various sectors. Products made from this new material by The North Face are anticipated to reach the market in the future.

This partnership represents one aspect of Neste's strategy to expand the application of renewable solutions in diverse industries. The company has previously concentrated on reducing emissions in transportation and aviation through renewable fuels.
