Neste pilots automated shopping and robotic refueling in Finland
Neste is piloting a new kind of service station in Siltamäki, Vantaa, Finland. The station features an automated convenience store and robotic refuelling, with testing conducted on a select user group.

Neste Oyj is testing a novel automated convenience store concept and robotic refuelling at its service station in Siltamäki, Vantaa, Finland. The pilot aims to redefine the customer experience and evaluate future service station models.
The Neste Easy Deli store at the Siltamäki station offers customers a range of grab-and-go snacks, fresh groceries, and car maintenance products. Operating 24/7, the store relies entirely on an automated system, with potential expansion to be decided next year based on pilot results.
Additionally, the company is testing robotic refuelling technology where a robotic arm handles the tank filling process without human intervention. This system requires a chip installed in the car for identification. The technology is currently being piloted with a selected test team before wider customer introduction.
Neste has previously introduced mobile payment for fuel and sees automation and digitalization as key opportunities for enhancing customer service and preparing for future market demands.
